The 5: Keys to Finding your Direction

Currently listening to Jon Bellion – iRobot

Hello beautiful people and you’re welcome to my blog. I can’t believe it’s the last day in July! This year is going by crazily fast!! I can’t even begin to describe how this month has been tbh. I’ve had good and bad days, good and bad news, exciting moments and boring ones too but in all I’m grateful for the gift of life. I was discussing with my cousin the other day and trust me when I say it was very productive, but that’s not what I’ll be talking about today.

Many times when we are in our lowest points we think we’re the only one that has been there and it’s difficult for us to open up and that brings me to today’s post. I’ll be sharing my 5 keys on how you can find your direction.

Accepting you’re lost. Before you can begin to find your place in life you have to admit to yourself that you’re lost. This is one of the hardest things I’ve had to deal with.

Listen to yourself. This might take a day, a week, months even a year. This is a very therapeutic phase which some people often mistake for depression. Speak to yourself, listen to your thoughts, write them down. Do this continually till you’re sure of what you’re hearing.

Reevaluate your Goals. This is when you start redefining your purpose. Write down your goals, long term and short term, how you plan on achieving them, action plans. When you write things down they seem more realistic and it’s the first step to actualizing your plan.

Surround yourself with positivity. This is already self explanatory and it doesn’t apply to only humans. Sometimes it can mean changing your environment or renovating your personal space.

Leap of Faith. This is where you start working towards your goals and actualizing your plans. Trust me when I say it’s a good feeling! Knowing who you are and what you can accomplish. Trust God and let go!
